Komatsu excavator parts and components

Which parts decide the price of a used Komatsu excavator, how part numbers are read from the machine plate, and where Komatsu parts are available. We export machines — we do not supply parts ourselves.

What "parts" means on a used Komatsu excavator

On a used Komatsu excavator, parts fall into four groups that together decide most of the price. The undercarriage - chain, shoes, rollers, sprocket and idler - wears with hours and ground conditions, and replacing it is expensive, which is why wear here moves the number more than anything else. The hydraulics cover the pump, control valve and cylinders, judged by pump response and combined movement under load rather than by appearance. The engine is assessed on a cold start, smoke and blow-by rather than on the hour meter alone. Finally the structure - welds and pin play in the boom, arm and carbody - tells you how hard the machine has actually worked. Buckets, teeth and quick couplers are attachments rather than core parts, and they are usually the easiest to replace.

Undercarriage: the biggest single lever

Chain, shoes, rollers, sprocket, idler and track tension are checked on the actual unit. Wear here is normal on a used machine; what matters is how much is left and whether the wear is even across the two sides. This is reported as part of the condition notes rather than summarised as a single word.

Hydraulics: judged under load

Réponse de la pompe et mouvements combinés en charge are the practical test. A machine that tracks straight and lifts cleanly when warm is in a different category from one that is slow or drifts, and the difference shows up in the price long before any part number is quoted.

Engine: a cold start tells you more than the meter

Cold start, smoke and blow-by are checked because a meter reading is a reference, not proof of condition. Meters can be replaced, so hours are treated as one input alongside the mechanical checks.

Structure and attachments

Welds and pin play in the boom, arm and carbody are inspected, and the bucket, teeth and any coupler are photographed with the machine. Attachments are the easiest category to change, so they rarely decide the price on their own.

How a Komatsu part number is identified

Part numbers follow the machine, not the model name alone. The machine plate carries the model and serial number, and the part labels on the unit carry the component numbers. We photograph both on the actual machine you are buying, so a local supplier or workshop can match the correct part against the real unit rather than against a model name.

Where Komatsu parts are available

Komatsu parts are available through the manufacturer's parts network and through independent aftermarket suppliers in most markets. Availability and price at your end depend on your country and on the specific component, so the practical route is: we give you the plate and part-label photographs, and your local supplier confirms availability and price. We do not supply parts ourselves.

Questions des acheteurs about parts

Do you supply Komatsu excavator parts yourself?
No. We export used Komatsu excavators, not parts. Komatsu parts are available through the manufacturer's parts network and independent aftermarket suppliers in most markets. We photograph the part labels on the machine you are buying so your local supplier can identify them, but we do not supply parts ourselves.
How are Komatsu excavator part numbers identified?
Part numbers follow the machine, not the model name alone. The machine plate carries the model and serial number, and the part labels on the unit carry the component numbers. We photograph both on the actual machine, so a local supplier can match the correct part.
Which parts affect the price of a used Komatsu excavator most?
The undercarriage is the biggest lever - chain, shoes, rollers, sprocket and idler wear is expensive to put right. Hydraulic pump response, engine condition and structural welds and pin play follow, and they are all reported on the actual unit before payment.
