Documents for exporting a used excavator from China
This page is a short reference on documents for exporting a used excavator from china. Invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin — what each document is for and who issues it.
What a used excavator export normally needs
A normal export of a used machine from China is documented with four core papers, plus any destination-specific certificate agreed for the order.
Commercial invoice
The invoice states the parties, the machine, the price and the terms. The price on it should match the figure you agreed.
Packing list
The packing list describes what is loaded and how, including dimensions and weight, which the forwarder and the customs broker need.
Bill of lading
The bill of lading is issued by the shipping line and is the transport document. It is normally released against payment, which is why terms are agreed before loading.
Certificate of origin
The certificate of origin states where the goods originate. Some destinations require it for duty purposes or for import registration.
Destination-specific certificates
Some countries require an additional conformity or inspection certificate. The exact requirement depends on the destination and can change, so it is confirmed for your order and with your broker rather than assumed from a list.
